SMASHING PILLARS... RAISING SONS

You Will See the Goodness of the Lord

Shalom Pillars,

Last Friday I ministered at Our Christian Fellowship Church in Houston, Texas. During the worship service I received a prophetic word for the church through a vision of a man pushing an enormous boulder up a very steep mountainside. He was obeying a command from God to bring the boulder to the top of the mountain. At first, it was very easy for the man to do. He seemed to have supernatural strength as he pushed the boulder with ease up the mountain. Then, just as he was able to see the mountaintop in the near distance, the boulder started to become heavier and heavier. Pushing the boulder had suddenly become difficult to continue pushing it higher. He wasn’t growing tired. The boulder seemed as if it was gradually becoming denser making it more difficult for the man to push it any further up the mountain.

Eventually, the man was not able to move boulder any farther and he began to stress under the weight of it. His emotions began to flood him with fear, worry, and anxiety knowing the boulder would crush him when he could no longer sustain the weight of it on his shoulders. He was too weak to attempt to descend. He had no strength left to push the boulder even an inch higher. All he could do was stand and try to sustain the weight of the boulder over his head to prevent it from crushing him. He believed God would deliver him, but now he was beginning to wonder, even doubt that He would. Fearing he may have sinned against God somehow, he began to repent and cry out for mercy. He repented of any sin that he may have committed and begged God to deliver him. The boulder only grew heavier. Beginning to feel abandoned he began to accuse God of not caring. He even accused God of calling him to do something God knew he was not able to do. The boulder grew even heavier. With no one in sight to come to the man’s aid, he decided it would be better to just let go of the boulder and be crushed out of his misery. Because the boulder was so big he didn’t know God was on the other side of the boulder with His finger on it to purposely prevent him from making it to the top of the mountain. It was God’s intention for him to make it to the top, but God also wanted the guy to learn some things on his way up to ensure that he would stay there and not be taken down by an enemy at a later time. So it was imperative that the man learned everything about the mountain, the dangers, and benefits of it. The man needed to learn the boundaries set by God in his life not to control him but to ensure he succeeded in overcoming every test and trial he could experience as God continued to promote him in life. It was God’s mission to author and bring to completion a “Faith that Prevails” in him. He would need prevailing faith to sustain him in the new place God was about to establish him in because at some point in the future there would be another boulder to carry up another mountaintop. God was planning on it. End of the vision.

If you're going through a very difficult time right now the Lord wants you to know that He is right there with you. He hasn’t abandoned you. He is using what you're going through to bring you into a new and higher place of security, victory, safety, and rest in Him. It will all be done and secured by your faith in Him to keep His promises in your life. He is testing you because faith is not faith unless it’s tested.

Remember, a teacher never speaks during the test, but is present. He called you. You didn’t miss it. Don't give up because of some setback. Set your gaze on Him. If you look up to the things which are above you will see the mountaintop in the distance. God is waiting there to encounter you. Don’t expect anyone to run to your rescue this time. This one is God’s alone. He will not share the glory of delivering you with anyone else. His deliverance will become your promotion, if you press on, move forward, and allow the grace of God to carry through.

James 1:2-8, 19-20 NKJV, My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have [its] perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. … So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Proverbs 16:32 NKJV, He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

Psalm 37:22-24 NKJV, For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth, But those cursed by Him shall be cut off. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

Psalm 119:164 NKJV, Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments.

Proverbs 24:16 NKJV, For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.

Psalm 12:6 NKJV, The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.

Job 5:17-27 NKJV, "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. For He bruises, but He binds up; He wounds, but His hands make whole. He shall deliver you in six troubles, Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you. In famine He shall redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword. You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, And you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes. You shall laugh at destruction and famine, And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth. For you shall have a covenant with the stones of the field, And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. You shall know that your tent is in peace; You shall visit your dwelling and find nothing amiss. You shall also know that your descendants shall be many, And your offspring like the grass of the earth. You shall come to the grave at a full age, As a sheaf of grain ripens in its season. Behold, this we have searched out; It is true. Hear it, and know for yourself.

1 Corinthians 16:13 NKJV, Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Revelation 2:25-26 NKJV, "But hold fast what you have till I come.”And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power…

God loves you. Allow Him to finish this process He is working in your life to bring it to completion, the fullness of what He desires for you. Then you will enter into the rest He’s prepared for you if you will allow Him to work in your life.

A great and wise friend of mine once taught me something about God and His creation story that I never really considered. He worked six days and then on the seventh day He rested. God worked six days, not man. He only intended man to be a witness to His work. Well, he’s God, and he does not change. He’s still creating today. He’s creating good things in your life. Nothing is required of you except that you be a witness of His work in your life. If you hear Him and obey Him you will eat the good of the land He has for you to possess and dwell in.

Receive this blessing:

The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you rest.

Please feel free to share this post.

Best,

Samuel
